I wasn't planning on photographing anything that particular day. I went out with the wife to have dinner near the sea at my hometown of Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. As we ordered some drinks and appetizers, the skies started turning interesting so I went to the car and got my equipment. As I was setting up for the shot some of the locals and visitors started taking selfies with this fantastic sunset as the background. Honestly, can you blame them? Enjoy!!!
To be honest with all of you, I photograph more sunsets than sunrises. Sunsets are easier to photograph, in my opinion, because you have more time to plan your shot and also, if you go alone, you feel safer because there's still daylight and you can better judge your surroundings. But sunrises are special, the light is much more soft and full of mystery.
This one is one of those magical moments that I was fortunate enough to capture and share with all of you. Enjoy!!! Subtle Sunrise
So I went to a beautiful lake front place to catch the sunrise when a couple of Ospreys were fishing for breakfast. One of such beautiful animals decide to perch about 200 yards from my position. I didn't have my birding setup readily available so I fired away using my Nikon D800 with a 70-200 mm lens at 200 mm. For this shot I had to crop it really agressively in order to end up with a decent picture. Let me know what you think of it, enjoy!!!
The Osprey and the Prey
As 2016 is coming to an end I must say that it was a great year for me. I got to fulfill a long time dream of visiting and photographing the beautiful contry of Iceland. Also, in my beloved Puerto Rico, I got a chance to explore and venture myself into the heart of my country. Thank you for always hanging around as I share what I see with you. Stay tuned because I got this feeling that 2017 is going to be better and bigger than this year. As always...enjoy!!!
My Favorites From 2016
That night I couldn't sleep, I was tossing and turning. At around 4:20 am decided to get out of bed, walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. It was my day off and I wanted to sleep in so bad!
So I brewed my self a cup of joe and grabbed my camera gear and went on a short 10 minute drive to this spot to watch the sunrise. At first, it started out really normal but suddenly, everything changed. I rushed out of the car a looked for a simple composition to capture the sky on fire. What a great reward for not getting my sleep, enjoy!!! On Fire |
